As children we grew up listening to stories, watching shows on television screens that would weave stories of characters whom we loved, and we would make up stories of our own lives.

Why do stories matter? We begin the first readings in our World Literature class with the Creation Story in Genesis. How do we as humans relate to these stories and why do we need them in our lives? How do these stories enrich us socially, intellectually, and culturally?
